Sometimes, I take a picture for reasons I can't really say. At times, I think I really have no idea why I am taking one, and that is precisely why I'm doing it. Do something for no apparent reason and see what happens of it, perhaps.
Since I was still walking the hard snowmobile trail, I was carrying my snowshoes across my back. I was also carrying a 7 1/2 foot long, slightly more than broomhandle sized sapling pole with me for use in less travelled areas later in the day. I stuck it in the snow to free my hands, so it shows there, standing to my right. The low winter sun and the angle of the view down onto the snow make for a an effect that was not in the least apparent in person. Perhaps the loss of perspective among scenery is what makes for the change?
