Looking up a ridge, east into the red pines along the ski trail on the west edge of town in Paradise, Michigan. The last snowstorm had driven hard from a fixed direction, and plastered the same side of all the trees with snow. When viewed from certain angles, the striped effect is striking as snow and tree bark constrast.
