Looking east, while heading westward on the snowmobile trail west of Paradise, Michigan, on February 13, 2003. All the rest of these pictures were the same day, except the last two in this series. Never got above zero Farenheit all day.
I headed west on foot on the hardpacked snowmobile trail early enough in the morning to avoid all the traffic. I only followed it perhaps 2 or 3 miles, then struck off across roadless and trackless woods. The day started clear, and the low morning sun made some impressive views, such as this one.
