Another spring flood picture. I missed the exact peak of the flood by 12 hours, it seems. Even in this one, the night before, the water covered all the ground, but it was then too dark to take a picture of it. In this one the next morning, it dropped a foot or so, leaving the sand on the right. Two days later, it was down another 6 feet, I think.

This is hard to illustrate properly. The camera takes too narrow a view. Most of the nearby woods had become the river. Actually, this happens each spring, but I've just never seen it before. Few have, since about the only way to get out to see it is walk through water to get to it, as I did. Too wet for snowmobiles, trucks, and four wheelers, but not quite enough for a boat, basically.

For some idea of reference, this is the same river, but looking on the other side of the bridge in the winter, when the water level was probably about average for any time of the year.
