A tamarack out in a swamp, growing in the floating bog on the edge of a lake. No, it's not dead. In fact, I've been meaning to go back and get a picture of the same tree green and growing in the summer, but so far have not. I think it was somewhere between 8 and 10 feet tall, so it is still a small one, though they tend to be somewhat short and not very large compared to most trees.
