Sometimes the visual effect on camera is not at all what it was in person. Rarely, it is better. More often, like this one, the reason I took it when I was there is almost absent entirely from the picture.
There had been a light dusting of snow overnight, and I was out squirrel hunting the next day, and here I was crossing a swamp. The sunlight coming through the trees, and then shining on the snow on other trees, combined with the arrangement from my viewpoint almost looked as if there were a snow-frosted tree in the center of the picture that was in a kind of hallway of light.
