Looking up river at the same drop that has the whirpool at its base. Basically standing in the same spot and looking to the right of the whirlpool. Water. Ice. Trees. Etc. I'm guessing ou knew that, though.

Left side of the river in this view is the island. Right side of the image seems to have inadvertently included my hiking staff stuck in the snow next to me.
